Day-wise Itinerary
ExpandDay 1: Arrival At Darjeeling
On arrival, you will meet our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Darjeeling. On reaching check into your hotel, unpack and relax. Evening walk around Darjeeling Mall and enjoy the beauty of Hill queen Darjeeling and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2: Darjeeling Sightseeing
Early morning visit Tiger Hill to see a beautiful sunrise and capture the breathtaking sight of Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turns golden. Also visit Ghoom Monastery, the oldest monastery in the area which was built in 1875. Have a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel and proceed for city tour visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday) which was started by Tenzing Norgay after he climbed Mount Everest. Also visit Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Center (closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock and Happy Valley Tea Estate (from outside). Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Darjeeling To Gangtok
Morning departure to Gangtok, situated in Sikkim is overlooked by Himalayan Ranges, Gangtok is a beautiful city. Buddhism is a major religion in this area. On arrival check into the hotel. Evening is free for personal activities and overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 4: Gangtok City Tour
After breakfast at hotel later proceed to visit Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten Stupa, Rumtek Monastery, Ropeway Ride and Shanti view point. Evening is leisure or shopping and other activities and overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 5: Gangtok Sightseeing
After breakfast at the hotel and proceed for a full day excursion to Changu lake which is 35 kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains. Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the color of the lake’s waters. Also visit Baba Mandir (In case of Land slide or any other reason Tsomgo Lake is closed we will provide alternate sightseeing). Rest overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.
Day 6: Departure To Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station
Transfer to Bagdogra airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station for onward journey with sweet memories of Eastern Himalaya.
