About the tour
Kollam is the other gem in the crown of Kerala. It is a small city located on the boundaries of the Astamudi Lake. Kollam is also a famous tourist hub in the state. It is situated at a distance of 71 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Kollam serves as the southern gateway to the backwaters of Kerala. Day-wise Itinerary
ExpandDay 01: Arrive Cochin
On arrival at Cochin airport transfer to the Hotel. Check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit Fort Cochi. Walk and see the suspended Chinese fishing nets, which were introduced by traders from the court of Kublai Khan in the 14th century. Kochi fishermen still use these fishing nets to earn their livelihoods. Continue your stroll down to St Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. Next, see Santa Cruz Basilica, one the largest and most impressive churches in India. Finish your tour at Mattancherry Palace. It was built by the Portuguese and presented to the Raja of Kochi in 1555. The palace is famous for its stunning murals portraying scenes from Hindu tales, such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Next door is the Paradesi (also called Pardesi) Synagogue, the oldest active synagogue in South India. Overnight in Cochin.
Day 2: Cochin To Athirapalley
After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Athirapalley - about 63 km. Athirampilly Waterfalls is a popular picnic spot where water plunges from a height of nearly 80 feet before joining the Chalakudi River. Check in to the hotel on arrival and spend the day at leisure. Overnight in Athirampilly.
Day 03: Athirapally To Alleppey (Houseboat)
After a refreshing breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Alleppey. Transfer to Houseboat Point Check in at houseboat .Houseboat cruise is the best way to explore the beauty of backwaters , seen in breathing green, the village slumbers by the Vembanadu Lake , Lunch, Evening Tea/Coffee with snacks, dinner and Overnight stay in the Houseboat.
Day 04 : Alleppy To Kovalam
Now, start driving towards Kovalam. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and stay overnight. Enjoy the beauty of Kovalam by strolling down on beaches. O/n stay at Kovalam .
Day 05 : In Kovalam
After breakfast visit Padmanabhapuram Palace & Archeological museum in Trivandrum. Return back to Kovalam by evening. Stay overnight at hotel..
Day 06 : Kovalam To Trivandrum Airport Drop.
Next morning, take your breakfast and head towards Trivandrum International airport for flying onwards.
