Day 1: Arrive Guwahati And Transfer To Shillong
Meet and greet upon arrival by The Cat Holidays representative and then transfer to Shillong. The ‘Gleneagles of the East’ lies in the centre of a plateau surrounded by Khasi hills. En-route visit Umium Lake or Barapani Park . After lunch go for sightseeing. The sightseeing includes Don Bosco Museum of Indigenous Culture, Ward’s Lake is popular for short garden walks and boating, Botanical Garden offers plethora of indigenous and exotic plants and rare collection of orchids, Butterfly Museum is a storehouse of finest and rarest species of butterflies and moths, Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with stretches of roses and exquisite flowers. The Mini Zoo adjacent to the park has about 73 birds, 140 reptiles and mammals, Golf Course is one of the largest Golf courses in Asia. Spend the evening in the splendid arena, State Museum is a display of the lifestyle and heritage of the people of Meghalaya, Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks, Shillong Peak displays a mesmerizing view of the scenic country side. A unique spot of Shillong is Archery Stakes. A gambling sport which is held every day (except Sundays) at 4.00 PM. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 2: Excursion To Cherrapunjee
After breakfast, excursion to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee is framed as the wettest place on Earth is 60 kms from Shillong. The journey from Shillong to Cherrapunjee offers a pleasant drive as one can witness numerous waterfalls and gorges. Longer stay gives opportunity to the visitor to explore limestone caves and waterfalls, the amazing living root bridges and galore of water and adventure activities. While the must visit places are the gorgeous Seven Sisters falls and the Mawsmai cave is in your tour plan. Also the following sightseeing we will be covering as under: Ramakrishna School and Museum, Ethnic collection, Jaintia Hills, Khasi Hills and Garo Hills. Also visit Eco Park. The Eco Park has been created in the plateaus by the Meghalaya government. At this Eco Park, tourists can see beautiful orchids growing in abundance in green house, which are given by Shillong Agri-Horticultural Society. Visit Nohsngithiang Falls, Nohkalikai Waterfalls, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View , Dainthlen Waterfalls. You can visit Thankarang Park if you have one more day in hand and make your overnight stay in Cherrapunje (Optional). Later come back to Shillong Hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 3: Excursion To Dawki And Mawlynnong
After breakfast, excursion to Dawki. En-route visit Mawlynnong village, situated 90 kms ahead of Shillong, on the Shillong-Dawki Road. This village epitomizes a standard, which all other villages need to aspire to be. Dubbed the cleanest village in India by Discover India Magazine. Paved walkways and beautiful flowerbed all along mark the village, with waterfalls, a living root bridge, hilly rivulets, acacia plantation and an excellent view of the faraway plains of Bangladesh all contribute to the ambiance of this village. Farming of betel nut and leaves, broomsticks and pepper along with bee rearing are the primary economic activity of these areas. Later return back to Shillong Hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 4: Shillong To Kaziranga National Park
After breakfast, check out from the hotel to go to Kaziranga National Park, the home of "One Horned Rhinoceros". Arrive Kaziranga and check in at your hotel. Evening free for leisure or explore the local market. Overnight stay in Kaziranga. Optional: Bihu Dance could be organized on request.
Day 5: Kaziranga National Park
Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant i.e. Elephant Safari (Optional: Unless it is mentioned in the inclusion). Get up early morning at 5.30 AM and start for both central range ‘Kohora’ and western range ‘Bagori’. At 6:30 AM return to the hotel or resort for breakfast. After Breakfast take little rest in the resort and hotel. Afternoon around 01.45 PM you have Jeep Safari in Central range. There are also over 500 species of birds. Return back to resort or hotel. Overnight in Kaziranga. Optional: Bihu Dance could be organized on request in the evening. Note: The Park is open during the winter months of the dry season from the beginning of November to the end of April.
Day 6: Kaziranga National Park
After Breakfast get your packaged lunch and go for the eastern range ‘Agoratoli’. Kaziranga National Park is split into 4 zones: the central or Kaziranga Range; the western or Bagori Range; the eastern or Agaratoli Range and the Burapahar Range. We usually recommend that our guests take their Elephant Safari in the Western Range where they will have a chance to get close to the great Indian one-horned rhinoceros. The favored ranges for Jeep Safaris are the eastern, central and western. Evening free at leisure or explore the area at your own observing the nature’s beauty of its own. Overnight in Kaziranga. Optional: Bihu Dance could be organized on request in the evening.
Day 7: Kaziranga National Park To Guwahati
After breakfast, check out from the hotel to come back to Guwahati. After arriving sightseeing in Guwahati. Visit numerous temples - Maa Kamakhya Temple, Sukreshwar Temple, Umananda Temple, Navagraha Temple, Bashistha Ashram, Tirupathi Balaji Temple and many more. Visit the Second world war Cemetery, State Museum, State Zoo and Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra (A museum of Assam diverse culture) and Science Museum beside the temples. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, return back to Guwahati Airport or Railway station for your departure. Your tour ends here with pleasant memories.
