In the heart of Assam, covering an area of 430 sq-kms, is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. In 1985, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique natural environment.
Day 01 : Guwahati – Kaziranga National Park (Assam)
Arrive Guwahati airport and transfer to Kaziranga (250 Kms / 5 hrs drives approximately). Check in Hotel. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Day 02 : Kaziranga National Park (Assam)
After an early wake up, you will be taken to the riding point for an Elephant Ride. After the ride return back to the hotel after having breakfast at leisure. Afternoon enjoy the Park on a Jeep. Overnight at Kaziranga.
Day 03 : Kaziranga – Shillong (Assam To Meghalaya)
After breakfast drive to Shillong (290 kms / 7 hrs drive approximately). Check in at hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 04 : Shillong - Cherrapunjee (Meghalaya)
After breakfast we trek to Single Decker Living Root Bridge - 3-4 hours from the Resort. Distance 4 km down and up 1000 feet approx. This trek starts from the Resort premises and goes down hill through village Sohsarat. The steps are relatively steeper in two short stretches. Half the distance is covered by steps going down hill. Then there is a jungle path going along the sides of the hill leading to the Living Root Bridge with a few steps after short stretches of sloping foot path. Moss thrives on these sandstone steps during the monsoon and makes them slippery. Back trek to resort and evening at leisure with local music placed by the local boys. Overnight at Cherrapunjee.
Day 05 : Cherrapunjee – Mwallynong - Shillong (Meghalaya)
After breakfast excursion to Mwallynong (100 kms / 3 hrs drive approx). Enroute near Shillong visit Elephant Falls, Shillong peak and then proceed to Mwallynong. Drive back to Shillong for overnight stay.
Day 06 : Shillong – Guwahati (Meghalaya To Assam)
After breakfast drive to Guwahati. Check in hotel later visit Kamakhya temple – it is situated at the top of the Nilachal Hill at about 800 feet above the sea level. The entire temple complex not only comprises of many other temples but also a whole set of people connected with them. Apart from the main Devi temple, it also comprises of some other major temples of Devi Kali, Tara, Bagala, Chinnamasta, Bhuvanesvari, Bhairavi and Dhumavati. (Timing 06:00 A.M to 01:00 P.M & 3:00 P.M till its gets dark)
Day 07 : Guwahati Airport Drop (Meghalay To Assam)
After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport.
