About the tour
Lachen is where you will have your base. Situated at an altitude of 8838 ft and at a distance of 120 kms from Gangtok along the North Sikkim highway, the small town stands on a grassy and bushy flat land separated by deep gorges of River Lachen-Chu. A six hour drive from Gangtok through some of the most picturesque places in Sikkim takes one to this village. From here rises the pine-clad mountains with their snowy peaks and black cliffs.

Day-wise Itinerary
ExpandDay 1: Arrival In Gangtok
- Upon your meet and greet with our representative at Bagdogra Airport or at NJP Railway Station, a transfer will be arranged to the peaceful hill station of Gangtok. Check in at your hotel in this beautiful destination and start to get familiar with your surroundings. In the evening, set out on a shopping spree along the roads of main market area M.G Marg. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
- Distance From Bagdogra Airport To Gangtok : 130 kms/5 hrs.
Day 2: Tsomgo Lake And Baba Mandir
- After breakfast, prepare for a full day excursion to glacial Tsomgo Lake (12,310 feet), and the temple of Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir (a very holy site for all) – at a short distance of only 40 kms from Gangtok. Home to the Brahmini ducks and many migratory birds, the 1 kilometer long lake is oval shaped and nearly 50 feet deep. The surface reflects different colours with change of seasons and is held in great reverence by the local Sikkimese folk. Spend the evening in Gangtok for some recreational activities such as shopping and a delicious local dinner. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
- Sites Visited : Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir (if the lake is closed due a landslide or any other reason, alternate sightseeing will be provided).
Day 3: Gangtok To Lachen
After breakfast, prepare for your transfer to Lachen. Pick up from hotel is at 10 a.m, before you proceed to Lachen (9000 ft). On your way, stop and enjoy a a number of wonderful locations. You are likely to reach Lachen by late afternoon/early evening. Enjoy your dinner and tuck in for the night. Overnight stay at hotel in Lachen. Sites Visited : Tashi View Point, Kabi Lungstok, Naga Waterfalls, Seven Sisters Waterfalls, the confluence of Lachen-Chu and Lachung- Chu at Chungthang, Twin Waterfalls and Bhim Nala Waterfalls. Lunch will be served at Namok. Distance from Gangtok to Lachen: 130 kms/6 hrs.
Day 4: Lachen To Lachung
After breakfast, get ready for a lovely drive to to Chopta Valley and Gurudonmgar Lake (17200 ft/70 kms/3 hrs). Only Indian nationals are allowed to visit Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest situated lakes in North Sikkim. Remember, the altitude here may cause some breathing trouble. After lunch, prepare for your transfer to Lachung. Sites Visited : Chopta Valley, Gurudongmar Lake. Distance from Lachen to Lachung : 44 kms/2 hrs. Overnight stay at hotel in Lachung.
Day 5: Lachung To Yumthang Valley Excursion And Back To Gangtok
After breakfast proceed for full day excursion to Yumthang Valley, which is Known as Valley of Flowers (11800 Ft / 3598 Mts / 25 Kms / 1 ½ hours one way). On the way back, visit Hot Spring (11800 ft/1½ Hrs/ way) considered to have medicinal properties. Back to hotel. After lunch, transfer to Gangtok (124 kms / 06 hrs). Overnight at Hotel.
Day 6: Departure From Gangtok
After you have finished your breakfast, a transfer will be arranged to Bagdogra Airport/ NJP Railway Station from the hotel. Guest is advised to start early and not to rush. Your tour in Gangtok has ended. Let the memories begin!

Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), etc (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot). Any increase in taxes or fuel price, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure. Room heater charges. Service tax. Insurance. (the cat holidays recommend to get the travel insurance done through us at a nominal cost when you are going for a vacation to the north east region of india always) Anything which is not included in the inclusion. Difference in cost arising due to change in fuel price (calculation based on petrol inr 70 per liter & diesel inr 58 per liter) Difference in cost arising due to extra usage of vehicle, other than scheduled & mentioned in the itinerary. Difference in cost arising due to change in taxes by the government which will have to be collected directly on arrival.The luxury vehicle (scorpio / xylo) will be provided to the guest for the complete tour. Also while opting for luxury vehicle please informs the guest to travel light with minimum baggage of one piece per person. In case of excess baggage the guest will have to opt for an extra vehicle for carrying the excess baggage. The cost for this will be collected directly from the guest. Maximum 06 heads (including adult & children) will be allowed in a scorpio / xylo. Maximum 08 heads (including adult & children) are allowed in non ac Tata sumo / similar. Ac of this luxury vehicle will only operate in plain and not in hills.
