Day 1: Arrive Guwahati
Meet and greet upon your arrival by The Cat Holidays representative and transfer to your hotel. Check in and freshen up for local sightseeing of Guwahati. Visit numerous Temples - Maa Kamakhya, Sukreshwar, Umananda, Navagraha, Bashistha Ashram, Tirupathi Balaji and many more. Visit the Second world war Cemetery, State Museum, State Zoo and Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra (A museum of Assam diverse culture) and Science Museum beside the temples. Optional: Boat Cruise at Brahmaputra River in the evening. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 2: Guwahati To Shillong
Day 3: Excursion To Cherrapunjee
After breakfast, excursion to Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee is framed as the wettest place on Earth is 60 kms from Shillong. The journey from Shillong to Cherrapunjee offers a pleasant drive as one can witness numerous waterfalls and gorges. Longer stay gives opportunity to the visitor to explore limestone caves and waterfalls, the amazing living root bridges and galore of water and adventure activities. While the must visit places are the gorgeous Seven Sisters falls and the Mawsmai cave is in your tour plan. Also visit Ramakrishna School and Museum Ethnic collection, Jaintia Hills, Khasi Hills and Garo Hills, Eco Park, Nohsngithiang Falls, Nohkalikai Waterfalls, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View, The Mawkdok Dympep Valley View, Dainthlen Waterfalls. You can visit Thankarang Park if you have one more day in hand and make your overnight stay in Cherrapunje (Optional). Later come back to Shillong Hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 4: Excursion To Dawki And Mawlynnong
After breakfast, excursion to Dawki. en-route visit Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong village, situated 90 kms ahead of Shillong, on the Shillong-Dawki Road. Dubbed the cleanest village in India by Discover India Magazine. Paved walkways and beautiful flowerbed all along mark the village, with waterfalls, a living root bridge, hilly rivulets, acacia plantation and an excellent view of the faraway plains of Bangladesh all contribute to the ambience of this village. Farming of betel nut and leaves, broomsticks and pepper along with bee rearing are the primary economic activity of these areas. Later return back to Shillong Hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 5: Excursion To Nartiang
After breakfast, excursion to Nartiang. Monoliths exist throughout the length and breadth of the Khasi and Jaintia Hills. However, the biggest collection of monoliths or Megalithic stones in one single area is to be found north of the Nartiang market. These consists of Menhirs (Upright stones) Moo Shynrang and Dolmens (flat stones in the horizontal position) locally known as Moo Kynthai. Within the perimeter of this Megalithic collection stands the tallest Menhir erected by U Mar Phalyngki a trusted lieutenant of the Jaintia King to commemorate his victory in battle. The Durga Temple at Nartiang stands today as verification of the Hindu heritage of the Jaintia Kingdom. Although the original structure has been modified, the temple holds the same altar, idols and swords which were used to offer sacrifices to the goddess Durga centuries back. Later come back to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 6: Shillong To Kaziranga
After breakfast, check out from the hotel to go to Kaziranga National Park, the home of "One Horned Rhinoceros". Check in at your hotel. Evening free for leisure or explore the local market. Overnight stay in Kaziranga. Optional: Bihu Dance could be organized on request.
Day 7: Kaziranga National Park
Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant i.e. Elephant Safari (Optional: Unless it is mentioned in the inclusion). At 5.30AM start for both central range ‘Kohora’ and western range ‘Bagori’. At 6:30 AM return to the hotel or resort for breakfast. After breakfast take little rest. Afternoon around 01.45 PM you have Jeep Safari in Central range. Return back to resort or hotel. Overnight in Kaziranga. Optional: Bihu Dance could be organized on request in the evening. Note: The Park is open during the winter months of the dry season from the beginning of November to the end of April.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, return back to Guwahati Airport or Railway station for your departure. Your tour ends here with pleasant memories.
