Day Wise Itinerary

If you want to see nature's real beauty then a visit to North East India. Consisting of 7 states also called 'Seven Sisters' North East India has some real surprises for the travelers coming here. Not so much established on the travelers map, yet the North Eastern India, has its own charm that will sweep you off your feet.

Here is how you will spend your time
Day 1

Day 1: Arrival At Guwahati And Transfer To Nameri

  • Meet and greet upon arrival by The Cat Holidays representative and transfer to Nameri National Park. Nameri National Park is 200 sq kms area is located in the Sonitpur district, bordering Arunachal Pradesh and it is also the core area of Nameri Tiger Reserve. Another important wild life sanctuary of Arunachal Pradesh is The Pakhui (Pakke) Wildlife Sanctuary adjoins the Park on its North-Eastern point. The river Jia- Bhoroli and its tributaries namely the Diji, Dinai, Doigurung, Nameri, Dikorai, Kharietc crisscross the park. During rainy season few Jheels also dot the area. One can enjoy rafting in the Jia Bhoroli river in the south western boundary.
  • Overnight in Nameri.

Day 2

Day 2: Nameri To Dirang

  • After breakfast transfer to Dirang. En-route you will be visiting Bhalukpong which is situated on the Assam-Arunachal border,
  • Tipi Orchid Sanctuary and Research Centre and By the side of the glass house there is an orchid museum too. Overnight at Dirang.

Day 3

Day 3: Dirang Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, full day sightseeing of Dirang. Dirang a beautiful hill station comprises of Tribal Mahayana Monapas sharing their traditions and heritage which are similar to Western Bhutan. The spectacular natural view of Dirang surely makes the visitors spell bound. The high peaks and mountains of Dirang are irresistible for mountaineers and trekkers. Also visit Dirang Dzong or the locally known as “jong” – the fort at Dirang was built in 1831. The other local attractions, which the tourists visit, are the National Yak Research Centre (situated half-way between Dirang and Tawang). The Regional Apple Nursery and Kiwi Farms are situated across the river valley and one has to cross over through a small bridge.
  • The other famed tourist spot is the Hot Water Spring. Sangti Valley, located at 7 km from Dirang is one of the seasonal homes of the majestic creature called the black-necked crane that flies across from China and perhaps Leh, right into its laps. It is the base camp for trekking to Gorichen peak and other bird watching trails. Later come back hotel. Evening visit Dirang Market. Overnight in Dirang.

Day 4: Dirang To Tawang

After breakfast transfer to Tawang. While going to Tawang you will be visiting Jaswant Garh, The war memorial is located 14 kms from Sella Pass on the way to Tawang. Visit Sella Pass, The entry point into the Tawang Valley. The glimpse of Paradise Lake in the Sella Pass makes your visit worth. Most of the time the lake is covered with thick blanket of snow. Day 5

Day 5: Tawang Sightseeing

After breakfast, full day sightseeing in Tawang which includes The Tawang Monastery (Vihar). The monastery is also called Galden Namgey Lhatse meaning celestial paradise. There is a magnificent 8 meter high statue of Lord Buddha. The ancient library inside the courtyard has an excellent collection of thangas, painted with the blood from the nose of 5th Dalai Lama and valuable Buddhist manuscripts mainly Kanjur and Tanjur numbering 850 bundles. Then visit Urgelling Monastery. It is the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. Inside the monastery there are several Stupas (Vihar) and people from all walks of life visit this place during Buddhist New Year to get the blessing for the coming year. The craft centre in Tawang sells beautiful masks, hand woven carpets, jewellery in silver, coral and amber, ‘chubas’ the local dress and delightful affordable mementos. Visit Tawang War Memorial. Day 8: Tezpur To Kaziranga

  • After breakfast start for sightseeing of Tezpur, the city of blood. Situated on the north bank of the Brahmaputra, Tezpur is a beautiful and multifaceted city steeped in mythology and history. The city abounds in archaeological sites, hills, lakes and gardens.
  • The Bhomoraguri stone inscription of the Ahom general Kalia Bhomara Barphukan and Harjjar Varman’s 9 line inscription are located near Tezpur. The picturesque stone inscription of yore is endowed with hillocks, gardens and lakes. The Chitralekha Udyan, the most beautiful garden of Tezpur has impressive ornamental stone pillars, sculptural relics, water sports facility, lush green walkways and a small amphitheater too. Visit Agnigarh. The Ouguri Hill houses giant monoliths which are any rock climber’s delight. The hill top provides a panoramic view of Tezpur on one side and the Brahmaputra on the other. Day 9: Kaziranga National Park

Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant i.e. Elephant Safari (Optional: Unless it is mentioned in the inclusion). At 5.30AM start for both central range ‘Kohora’ and western range ‘Bagori’. At 6:30 AM return to the hotel or resort for breakfast. After breakfast take little rest. Afternoon around 01.45 PM you have Jeep Safari in Central range. Optional: Bihu Dance could be organized on request in the evening. Note: The Park is open during the winter months of the dry season from the beginning of November to the end of April. Overnight at Kaziranga.
Day 10

Day 10: Kaziranga To Shillong

Day 11: Shillong Sightseeing

After breakfast, full day sightseeing of Shillong. The ‘Gleneagles of the East’ lies in the centre of a plateau surrounded by Khasi hills. The gorgeous city offers amazing tourist spots. Visit Don Bosco Museum of Indigenous Culture, Ward’s Lake, Botanical Garden which offers plethora of indigenous and exotic plants and rare collection of orchids. Butterfly Museum is a storehouse of finest and rarest species of butterflies and moths. Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with stretches of roses and exquisite flowers. The Mini Zoo adjacent to the park has about 73 birds, 140 reptiles and mammals. Golf Course is one of the largest Golf courses in Asia. Spend the evening in the splendid arena. State Museum is a display of the lifestyle and heritage of the people of Meghalaya. Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks. Shillong Peak displays a mesmerizing view of the scenic country side. A unique spot of Shillong is Archery Stakes. Agambling sport which is held every day (except Sundays) at 4.00 PM.
