The capital of the state of Sikkim, Gangtok is an attractive tourist destination, reflecting a unique ambience which derives from its happy blend of tradition and modernity. Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/bagdogra Airport - Gangtok (125kms/approx 4-5hrs)

  • Welcome at New Jalpaiguri railway station/ Bagdogra airport & proceed to gangtok located on a ridge at a height of 5500 feet, with a spectacular view of the Khangchendzonga, the town provides the perfect base for travel through the state.
  • On arrival check in at hotel.
  • Rest of the day is at leisure to explore on your own.
  • Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2: Gangtok – Tshangu Lake And Baba Mandir Excursion

  • After breakfast, start for excursion to Tshangu Lake . Situated at a height of 12400Feet / 3780 Meters / 43Kilo Meters in 3Hours one way, with an average depth of 50 Feet. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around.
  • Later, visit Baba Mandir (13100Feet / 3994 Meters / 16Kilometers , 1Hour one way from Tshangu Lake. It is dedicated to “Baba” Harbhajan Singh, who was a soldier of the Indian Army. He died near the Nathula Pass in eastern Sikkim. Two shrines have been built to show reverence to Baba Harbhajan Singh.
  • Return to Gangtok by evening for overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3: Gangtok - Pelling (116kms/approx 4.5hrs)

  • After breakfast , go for a half day (04 hrs) sightseeing covering Jhakri Water Falls along with Do-rul Chhorten, Research Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday), Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Closed on Sunday) and Flower Show.
  • Afternoon, transfer to Pelling .
  • Return to hotel by afternoon and rest of the day at leisure to explore the city on your own.
  • Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 4: Pelling – Yuksom Excursion (35 Kilo Meters / 02 Hours)

  • After breakfast ,we drive to Yuksom .On the way ,view the panoramic sightseeing of Darap Village, Rimbi Water fall & Hydro Project, Kanchanjunga Water fall ,Khecheopalri Lake (6000 Feet / 1829 Meters) which is one of the sacred Buddhist mountain lake and is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true.
  • A further drive takes you to Yuksom (the meeting place of three monks) - the first capital of Sikkim. This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned.
  • Return by late evening to hotel in Pelling for overnight stay.

Day 5: Pelling - Kalimpong (125kms/approx 3hrs)

  • After breakfast, check out from hotel & proceed to Kalimpong, located at an altitude of 4,100ft. Because of its relatively lower altitude compared to Darjeeling or Gangtok, the weather is milder and pleasant for most part of the year. And therefore it suits all tourists who are looking for such pleasant weather combined with magnificent views of Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan snow peaks, sweeping landscapes and lush greenery.
  • On arrival check in at Hotel & day free for leisure on own. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 6: Kalimpong - Darjeeling (50kms/approx 2hrs)

  • After breakfast, check out from hotel & proceed to Darjeeling, spread in ribbons over a steep mountain ridge, surrounded by emerald-green tea plantations and towered over by the majestic Khangchendzonga (8598m), Darjeeling is the definitive Indian hill station.
  • On arrival check in at hotel & day free for leisure on own.
  • Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 7: Darjeeling

  • Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8482 Feet / 2586 Meters at around 4 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather).On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery & Batasia Loop.
  • Return to hotel and after breakfast go for a half-day sightseeing of Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Darjeeling Ropeway Ride (Ticket cost not included & will be approx INR 180.00 per person) Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) & panoramic view of Tea Estate.
  • Return by late evening and overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 8: Darjeeling - new Jalpaiguri Railway Station/ Bagdogra Airport (66kms /approx 2.5hrs)

After breakfast , transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport for your onward connecting train/flight with memories of a lifetime trip.
