Day 1: Arrival In Gangtok
Day 2: Tshangu Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion
After breakfast, prepare for a full day excursion to glacial Tsomgo Lake (12,310 feet), and the temple of Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir (a very holy site for all) – at a short distance of only 40 kms from Gangtok. Home to the Brahmini ducks and many migratory birds, the 1 kilometer long lake is oval shaped and nearly 50 feet deep. The surface reflects different colours with change of seasons and is held in great reverence by the local Sikkimese folk. Spend the evening in Gangtok for some recreational activities such as shopping and a delicious local dinner. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 3: Gangtok To Lachung (Timing Will Depend On The Issuance Of Permit)
Morning breakfast then around 10 AM drive to Lachung via Chungthang. Lachung is 125 kilometers, 5 to 6 hours Lunch at Chungthang nearly 2 ½ to 3 hours of drive from Gangtok - Lachung situated at an altitude of 8600 feet - On the way enjoy a few wonderful locations like Tashi View point, Kabi Lungstok, Naga Waterfalls, Twin Waterfalls, Bhim Nala Waterfalls and the confluence of Lachen chu and Lachung Chu at Chungthang - Lunch will be served at Namok - The road leads through Rhododendron plants of the Singha Forest Reserve extended up to the Tibetan Plateau - Picturesque landscape, snow peaked mountains, flowing rivers blooming rhododendrons. During April/May & June one can find the riot of colours as Rhododendrons, Primulae and many other Alpine Flowers are in full bloom. Guest are expected to reach Lachung at late afternoon or early evening. Check into hotel evening free to stroll up to Lachung monastery. Overnight halt at Lachung.
Day 4: Gangtok To Lachung
Day 5: Lachung To Yumthang Excursion
Early in the morning, get ready for day-long excursion to Yumthang Valley - the famed, glorious Valley of Flowers (11800 ft/3598 mts). On the way, check out the Hot Spring and Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary. Sites vasited : Hot Spring, Singba Rhododendrom Sanctuary, Yumthang Valley. hrs. Return to Lachung by evening. Day 6: Lachung To Gangtok (125 Kms/approx 5 Hrs)
After breakfast, prepare for your transfer to Gangtok. On your way, check out Bhim Nala waterfall and Twin waterfall. Upon arrival in Gangtok, get ready for a half day sightseeing tour of Gangtok. Sites Visited: Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Cable Car, Ganesh Tok, Tashi View Point, Gunjan Monastery, Spriti Ban, Flower Show. Overnight at hotel in Pelling.
Day 7: Gangtok To Pelling (120 Kms/approx 4.5hrs)
Day 8: Pelling Full Day Tour
After breakfast we drive to Yuksom (5840 Ft / 1780 Mts, 35 Kms / 02 Hrs) on way panoramic sightseeing of Darap Village, Rimbi Water fall & Hydro Project, Khecheopalri Lake (6000 Ft / 1829 Mts) it is one of the sacred Buddhist mountain lake and it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true. Myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface, it is picked by a bird & Kanchanjunga Water fall. A further drive takes you to Yuksom (the meeting place of three monks) - the first capital of Sikkim. This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned. Evening back to Pelling and overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 9: Kalimpong Sightseeing And Later Transfer To Darjeeling
After breakfast at hotel sightseeing at Kalimpong - Sightseeing Tour of Forest Museum (Closed On Thursday), Hanuman Mandir, Deolo Hill, Dr Graham Homes School, Durpin Monastery, Mangaldham, Pine View Nurseries (Cactus Only). Transfer to Darjeeling - 65 kilometers 2 ½ - 3 hours - At an height of 2123 meters / 70001 feet lies the land of breathtaking beauty, sloping tea gardens with spectacular views of the Kanchandzonga is the Queen of the hills. It is also home to the famous World Heritage train. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) - Check into hotel – Evening free to roam around Mall or local Shopping center. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
