Shillong is known as "Scotland of the East". It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland. Cherrapunji is a subdivisional town in the East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is credited as being the second wettest place on Earth. Guwahati is an ancient urban area, largest city of Assam and northeastern India. Mawlynnong is a village in the East Khasi Hills district of the Meghalaya state, India.
Day 01: Arrival At Guwahati
Day 02: Guwahati – Shillong
After breakfast we visit the Nabagraha Temple and then drive to Shillong (120 kms / 3 hrs drive approx). Check in to hotel. Later local sightseeing in Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 03: Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong
You will be traveling to Cherrapunjee – the wettest place on the earth. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Cherrapunjee visit – Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park, Koh Ramhah and Khrem Falls. Drive back to Shillong for overnight stay.
Day 04: Shillong – Mwallynong - Shillong
After breakfast excursion to Mawllynong (100 kms / 3 hrs drive approx). Drive back to Shillong for overnight stay.
Day 05: Departure From Shillong
After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport (140 kms/ 4 hrs drive approx).
