Day-wise Itinerary
ExpandDay 1: Srinagar (9th August 2014)
Your ladakh holiday starts as you arrive in Srinagar by flight, transfer to Houseboat on Dal Lake. The day is at leisure to relax at the lake or soak in the beautiful Kashmir valley. Dinner & Overnight at the boat Dal Lake
Day 2: Srinagar – Kargil (10th August 2014)
Post breakfast drive to Kargil crossing the Zoji La pass and passing through Drass – the second coldest inhabited place on earth after Siberia (Russia). The town of Kargil dons the feel of a typical Central Asian town.
Day 3: Kargil – Leh (11th August 2014)
This morning we will drive to Leh and cross the Fotu La, which is the highest pass on the Leh – Srinagar road and pretty much divides the majorly Buddhist district of leh from the primarily islamic population of Kargil. Enroute we’ll be visiting the moonland of Lamayuru. Overnight at Leh.
Day 4: Leh (12th August 2014)
Discover the monasteries of Indus Valley including Thiksey, Shey, Stok & Matho. Spend the evening discovering the local culture of Leh.
Day 5: Leh – Nubra Valley ( Khardung La ) (13th August 2014)
Today we ride to the ancient Silk Route via the highest motorable road on earth (Khardungla 18384 feet) in the tour to ladakh. Visit the famous Deskit Gompa of Nubra Valley. Walk on the sand dunes and ride the double humped camel (Bactrian camels brought to Ladakh by ancient Silk Route traders). Night Stay in Nubra.
Day 6: Nubra – Leh (14th August 2014)
By late afternoon we come back to Leh and chill or roam around Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace & Leh Monastery.
Day 7: Leh- Pangong Tso (15th August 2014)
Today in your ladakh holiday you will discover the myriad colours and shades of Pangong lake. Leave Leh in the morning and cross the third highest motorable pass (Changla) on earth. Spend good 3–4 hours by the great Pangong, 2/3rd of which lies inside the China border. Overnight at Camps by the Pangong Lake.
Day 8: Pangong Tso – Leh (16th August 2014)
Wake up calls by the migratory birds this morning. Indulge in the walk beside the lake or go for your photography splurge. Arrive at Leh in second half. Evening free. Overnight in Leh .
Day 9: Leh – Delhi (17th August 2014)
At last ! ladakh holiday comes to an end as you are transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
