Tourists throng to Darjeeling throughout the year to enjoy its cool weather, mystical Himalayan mountains, beautiful hills and more. Each sight in this town is picture-perfect. Darjeeling is perfect for honeymoons or romantic getaways.
Day 1: Njp Railway / Ixb Airport/tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) To Gangtok
Day 2: Gangtok – Tshangu Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion
After breakfast, prepare for a full day excursion to glacial Tsomgo Lake (12,310 feet), and the temple of Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir (a very holy site for all) – at a short distance of only 40 kms from Gangtok. Home to the Brahmini ducks and many migratory birds, the 1 kilometer long lake is oval shaped and nearly 50 feet deep. The surface reflects different colours with change of seasons and is held in great reverence by the local Sikkimese folk. Spend the evening in Gangtok for some recreational activities such as shopping and a delicious local dinner. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 3: Gangtok Full Day Tour
After breakfast today, get ready for a full day tour of Gangtok. Sites Visited: Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok, Flower show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sundays & govt. holidays), Gunjan Monastery, Dro-dul Chorten, Nam Nang View Point (ropeway on direct payment basis), Barthang Falls, Ranka Monastery, Enchey Monastery & Banjakhri Falls. Overnight at hotel in Gangtok.
Day 4: Gangtok To Pelling (130 Kms/approx 3 Hrs)
Day 5: Pelling Full Day Tour
Day 6: Pelling To Kalimpong (125 Kms/approx 3 Hrs)
Day 7: Kalimpong Sightseeing
Day 8: Kalimpong To Darjeeling (50 Kms/approx 2 Hrs)
Day 9: Darjeeling Sightseeing
Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8482 Feet / 2586 Meters at around 4 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). On way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast go for a half-day sight seeing of Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Darjeeling Ropeway Ride (Ticket cost not included & will be approx INR 180.00 per person) Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) & panoramic view of Tea Estate.
