This is a great place to get away from the city and enjoy a day of watersports. However, it is blistering hot if the wind is blowing from the land. If the wind is blowing from the gulf, it is much more tolerable. There is a great deal of trash strewn across the beach although trash cans are provided. Don't expect a sandy beach, it is mostly rocks of various sizes, so you will want some solid footware. Bring your own shade, as there are few trees actually on the beach.
