A tropical garden filled with exotic plants, monkeys, and birds is the spectacular setting for this family restaurant serving pan Brazilian dishes. The owner and chef, Ana Castilha, hails from Minas Gerais but received her formal training at New York City's French Culinary Institute. As a delightful consequence, there's a French twist to the traditional Brazilian dishes she's adapted, among them a salad made with mixed lettuce, mango, whole green peppercorns, Minas cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes. All the wines at Aprazivel are made in Brazil; their high quality may surprise those who have dismissed the country's wines. The outdoor tables enjoy excellent views of downtown and Guanabara Bay during the day, and by night hanging lanterns illuminate the garden.
