One of the more bohemian pubs in the city, Caislean ui Cuain attracts a sometimes eclectic crowd of writers, musicians and assorted oddballs, who gather to discuss city life and listen to live traditional Irish music. The pub is also one of the few remaining establishments that actively promotes the use of the Irish language, so if you want to brush up on your Gaelige, or just add a couple of choice phrases to your vocabulary, it's worth a visit. The pub can get very busy over the weekends, however, so it's best to arrive early.
