About

Famous in Bali, the kecak dance utilizes seven types of rhythmic combinations of the word cak. In the l970s, the Javanese choreographer, Sardono Kusuma worked with a group from Teges Kanginan in Peliatan to create a new type of kecak. After this, one of the dancers, Wayan Rina, developed this even further. Over 100 men sit in concentric circles or create various shapes on the stage space, all the while chanting "cak, cak, cak." This spectacle is not to be missed. Upcoming Dates: every full moon and new moon.
