Dario's

Dario was the person who first started simple authentic home style Italian food in Pune 20 years ago. His brand of Italian food is influenced both by his native Sicily as well as by the fact that he is a sannyasi at the Osho Commune. Don't expect fine dining or gourmet fare. There is some very basic homestyle pastas, pizzas, salads and desserts made with simple ingredients and prepared with honesty and humility. The restaurant is totally vegetarian and is indoor and outdoor. Most people prefer to sit in the beautiful garden. They have a full bar licence including a good selection of wines. Specialites include Tortellini with spinach and ricotta, the Vegetarian Lasagna and the Gnocchi with sage butter and an enormous variety of pizzas made in a wood fired pizza oven. Service is patchy when Dario is not there personally. A delightful way to spend an afternoon or evening in simple surroundings with simple food.
