Divadlo Komedie is an authentic Czech theatre with an excellent repertoire, a great lounge and a truly professional troupe of local actors, some with international acclaim like Karel Rodin, Martin Peklat and Martin Finger. UPDATE!!!: Divadlo Komedie was just named THEATRE OF THE YEAR 2009 and one of it's primary actors MARTIN PEKLAT was named BEST ACTOR for the role of Joseph Goebbels)!!!! It is not a typical tourist destination, but it could be as it is only two blocks from Wenceslas Square, Karlovo Namesti or Narodni Trida. My favorite plays in the current schedule are Weisenstein (a surreal play about the real life of the Elephant Man of Prague), Hoste and PROCES, an engaging adaptation of Franz Kafka's THE TRIAL. English subtitles are availible for large or small groups with advance request, or just come for a reasonably priced coffee, beer or snack in a genuinely bohemian art culture here in Bohemia.
