Start at the palace-like Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Completed in 1931 on the site of the original presidential house, the Memorial Hall is dedicated to its namesake the forerunner of the Chinese democratic revolution of 1911 and former president. Situated on Yuexiu Hill, your next stop is Zhenhai Tower for its commanding city views and a visit to the Municipal Museum housed inside. Also known as Five-Story Tower, it was built in 1380 by General Shu Luangzu of the Ming Dynasty to flaunt the domination of the Imperial Court over the seas in the south of China. Towering at an imposing 92 feet (28 m), inside the five-storied structure exhibits the history of this region from Neolithic times to the early part of the 20th century. Built in 1890, the Chen Clan Temple is the best-known clan temple in the entire province. Renowned for its architectural decoration and superior workmanship, this temple now houses the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum.
