One of the royal palaces built in 19 century by maharaja swathi thirunal balarama varma. the palace is situated adjecent to padmanabha swami temple in the heart of trivandrum city. it houses many interesting articles from the royal heritage of travancore,including the ivory throne, crystal chair, kathakali dolls,weapons,paintings etc. though such a magnificent building was built the maharaja could only stay for 2 years,when he passed away under mysterious circumstances.since then it was closed till 2000 when it was converted as a museum. entrance fee rs 20.
