La Risata's wood-fire oven thin and crispy pizzas are great; and so are their pastas, meat and seafood dishes. There's nothing overly done about the food or pretentious about their setting. Expect some hearty and wholesome dishes, along with an extensive wine list in modest yet classy surroundings. The Ampang eatery has since moved into a bigger space spread over two floors with a more contemporary setting. There's even a skylight courtyard decked with brick walls and unfinished cement. Order gnocchi ai gamberi - little potato dumplings and prawn sautéed in herb butter; pate di fegatini con crostini - garlic crostini with chicken liver; fettuccine all' albese - flat egg pasta with white truffle oil and creamy parmesan cheese sauce; pappardelle al ragu d'agnello- freshly made pasta ribbons with lamb ragu; pizza bresaola e rucola â pizza topped with air-dried beef, rocket salad, tomato, mozzarella and parmesan shavings; petto di manzo con vino rosso- wood fired oven roasted beef ribs in red wine and served with potato mash.
