Palau Bintan is one of the islands in Indonesia's Riaux Archipelago, best known for the Bintan Resorts complex in Lagoi. The Malaysian Peninsula is a short ferry ride away, and most of the people booking accommodation in Bintan and Lagoi are tourists and weekenders from Singapore. Lagoi is on the northern coast of Palau Bintan, with Singapore positioned northwest across the strait. All of the activities and facilities are organized around four- and five-star resorts in Lagoi, and there's little cause to venture away from the main entertainment districts.
