Linganamakki dam is one of the major water supply and power generating reservoir situated in Shimoga district which was constructed in 1964. Sharavathi river has been dammed to form Linganamakki dam which spreads for almost 120 km area in Sagara Taluk. Dam has been water source for wild animals and forest of Western Ghats.
