Called “the Black Greenwich Village,” L.A.'s vibrant Leimert Park Village is home to cafes, galleries, African imports shops, a dance studio specializing in African dance, and many performance venues for blues, jazz, hip hop, poetry slams and literary readings. The village is more or less bound by 43rd Street, Leimert Boulevard, Vernon Avenue, and Crenshaw Boulevard; Degnan Boulevard and 43rd Street are the main drags, and Leimert Plaza Park serves as its epicenter.
