This popular restaurant, which specializes in North Indian fare, has quite a few branches in the city now. Ever since it set-up shop in 1992, Mirch Masala grabbed the imagination of the people with its unusual decor and food. It is certainly amusing with its Bollywood movie dialogues and bizarre dhaba recreations. And the food, too, is above average, and lives up to its name: most of their food is cooked using khada masala - tempered whole spices. The more pungent dishes are marked on the menu with a chilly icon. Keep an eye out for specials marked on their menu; they often have seasonal specials. Thematic food festivals throughout the year pull in the crowds too. Masala Chhaas, chaats, Kebab Platter, veg,non-veg platters, Papad ka Kebab, Shikari Murgh, Murgh Methi Lahsuni, Tawa Paneer, Paneer Lababdaar, Palak Kofta, Makai Tamatar Bharta, Cheese Butter Angoori and Murgh Makhmali are all recommended. Pretty good biryanis too.
