Go to cool, dimly-lit Naivedyam to savour southern comfort. The place has a Tam-Bram décor — old-timey lamps, carved pillars and a surfeit of Tanjore paintings. The waiters are dressed in veshtis. Rasam and Bisibele Bhath are good here. So are Mysore Rava Masala Dosa and Thengai Rava Masala Dosa. Other options worth considering here are the Fried Idli, Poriyal Kootu and Pineapple Kesar Bhath. And yes, the Maharaja Thali is a perennial favourite. Also, Curd Rice, Lemon Rice, Upma, Dahi Vada and Uttapams are great stuff. Don't forget to order some of that wonderful Filter Coffee. Food served on giant banana leaves makes the picture of South India complete.
