OP Place & OP Garden

Chareon Krung Road, Bangrak

About

Set just behind the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, some fifty shops fill the elegant white building of OP Place, which provides a more relaxed shopping experience than much of Bangkok. The paneled woodwork, polished brass, carpets and piped music point to a slower, gentler pace of life. Upmarket shops sell jewelery, carpets, paintings, furniture, leather goods, silks, antiques and souvenirs. There is a coffee area upstairs. OP Garden is clearly signposted from OP Place. It is smaller but boasts several cafes with outside garden terrace dining and a range of shops selling artwork and souvenirs. -AH
