About

Beringharjo Market is the biggest and oldest traditional market in Yogyakarta. The market is located on Jl Malioboro. It's a good place to mingle with the locals and shop for cheap batik, clothes or homeware of all sorts.. For collectors of old money, they can get the ones from various countries, even the ones utilized in 1930s. The best part is the older section, the wet market, where you can find fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and spices. The market is open from 10 am to 15 pm. Like in other traditional markets you must be good at bargain. Tips: start to bargain half price of the seller's offer.
