About

Railway Station Prague - Libeň | The original railway station was put into operation on the track Olomouc - Prague in 1877. It was first called Libeň, then in the years 1913 - 23 it was Libeň National Station, and from 1923 on it was Libeň Upper Station, to distinguish it from the railway station of the former North-Western track Libeň Lower Station, which was at Palmovka and does not exist anymore. The railway station Prague - Libeň was newly rebuilt and completed in 1978. Back then, a new modern dispatching vestibule was built here, the platforms are covered with roofs, and there are subway crossings underneath the rails. The station serves the purpose of processing international freight transport and also as the departure and arrival station for the trains in the direction of Kolín.
