Salar de Tara

The Salar de Tara is a geomorphological salt pan in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile . It is embedded in the high - Puna , 120 km east of San Pedro de Atacama.The Salar is the Valley of a 1814 km2 large endorheic drainage basin , which is 54% in Chile , 22% in Bolivia and 24% in Argentina. The most important tributary is the Río Zalaperi , the flows coming from the north only by Bolivia and Argentina. The river brings 600 l / s [ater of very good quality . A project of this water for irrigation purposes in a channel leading to the ayllu of San Pedro de Atacama was postponed for financial reasons.
