The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is one of the important Shiva temples of Allahabad, U.P., located at the northern side of the city near the bank of River Ganges. The temple is famous as Shivkuti among locals. Fairs are held on Mahashivratri, Nagpanchmi & Sukla Astami of Shravan month when many people gather here & after bathing in River Ganges they perform puja in the temple. A small Hanuman temple is also located near this Mahadev temple.
