After the 1396 Niğbolu victory of Yıldırım Beyazid, the construction of Ulu Mosque started. After the completion of the construction of the mosque, the first prayer was built by Yıldırım Beyazid, Molla Fenari, and Somuncu Baba , who was in the congregation where Emir Sultan was found . The first imam of the Great Mosque was Süleyman Çelebid, the author of Mevlid.Located under the dome in the mosque, the fountain has a six-point pool and a three-bowl fountain. The inscription on the Mimber Gate shows the date of the mosque as 802 (1399-1400). The minaret of the mosque, which has two minarets, was built at the time of Yıldırım Beyazid and the minaret at the east was built by Çelebi Sultan Mehmet. The mosque, which was destroyed during the Timur invasion, was repaired during these years and the biggest repair was made after the 1855 earthquake.
