Tipu's Palace, also known as the Lal Mahal, is situated in Srirangapatna near the Sri Ranganathaswamy temple. This double storey ornate palace was built in 1791 and was used by Tipu Sultan as his summer retreat. After the death of Tipu Sultan, British used this palace as a secretariat till 1867.
