About

The Trevi Fountain is Rome's largest and most famous fountain. This stunning piece of architecture was designed by Nicola Salvi in 1732 and depicts Neptune's chariot being led by Tritons with sea horses - one wild, one docile - representing the moods of the sea. The famous custom is to throw a coin into the fountain, thus ensuring your return to the Eternal City. Certainly the most famous and photographed fountain in Rome, legend has it that whoever throws a coin into the pond will return to Rome.
