is an  astronomical   observatory  owned and operated by  Indian Institute of Astrophysics .  Vainu Bappu Observatory offers tourists an insight into the movement of celestial bodies.  Managed by Indian Institute of Astrophysics Bangalore, the observatory houses Asia's largest telescope. Built by Dr. Vaini Bapu after whom the observatory is named, the telescope is 93 inches in diameter.
