Ladakh is a mountainous region in northwest Jammu and Kashmir in north India and in the area known as the Trans-Himalaya. It's slightly smaller than Scotland, the settled population live between 2700m and 4500m, and nomadic encampments even higher, and it's the largest and the least populated region of Jammu and Kashmir.

Day 03: Leh To Lamayuru To Uleytokpo
In the morning drive down the Indus valley on a tour of the Lamayuru (approx. 130 kms.) circuit, famous for the dramatically located ancient Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining ‘Moonland’ features.
