Day 01 : Arrival At Cochin
Pick up from Cochin airport and transfer to Brunton Boatyard Hotel amidst the leafy environs of Willingdon Island. When you are in the mood to explore the town. Hop into a cab and in a span of a few kilometers you will see the towering Chinese fishing nets on the harbor and the houses dotted with colonial architecture. Must-see places are the old spice market at Mattancherry, the antique shops on Jew’s street, the Synagogue, the Dutch palace and of course St. Francis church and David Hall (CGH Earth Art Gallery). The evenings are best spent on the harbor cruise.
Day 02 : Cochin To Thekkady
After breakfast we drive up to the hills in Thekkady, known for its dense evergreen forests and spice plantations. Spice Village, is a charming combination of perennial flora and wildlife. Wander into the wild at the Periyar Tiger Reserve accompanied by our naturalist. Spot a sambar deer, bison and elephants in their natural habitat.
Day 03 : Thekkady Sightseeing
After breakfast set about to explore the surroundings. Sit astride an elephant or hitch a bullock cart ride. If you are trying to guess the ingredients that make Kerala cuisine so delicious? Cooking demonstrations held by the chef will be helpful. In the afternoon indulge yourself in an ayurvedic massage or just sit out in your verandah and watch the day go by. In the evening cultural programs will keep you entertained.
Day 04 : Thekkady To Kumarakom (Only Transfer)
After breakfast we drive to a town named Kumarakom on the banks of the mighty lake, Vembanad. Coconut Lagoon is an authentic experience of Kerala and its fascinating backwaters. Surrounded by a web of canals the resort is accessible only by boat. Evenings here is the best time of the day. Consume yourself on a sunset cruise on the Vembanad lake, adrift to a flute accompaniment. Or just sit on the banks of the mighty lake and delve into a desultory contemplation.
Day 05 : Kumarakom (No Car)
Curious about the birds you see flying around? A Naturalist will accompany you in the morning and help identify the birds. Before lunch, a visit to the nearby village, will give you a sneak-peak into the daily life of a villager. Cooking demonstration by the chef in the afternoon followed by an ayurvedic massage will rejuvenate your senses. Leisurely sessions of yoga will take away the stress and let you relax.
Day 06 : Kumarakom To Mararikulam (Only Transfer)
After an optional session of yoga followed by breakfast we go on to our last sojourn, Marari Beach. With endless miles of sand beaches and swaying palms all you need to do here is relax and unwind. Within just a few hours in this resort you will feel all your stress ebbing away. Not only is the air that you breathe crisp and fresh but also the food that you eat. The menu depends upon the fresh catch of the day from the sea and the vegetables brought in from our own organic farm next door.
