Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival At Bagdogra & Proceed To Darjeeling (75 Kms/approx 2.5 Hrs)

  • Welcome at New Jalpaiguri railway station/ Bagdogra airport & proceed to Darjeeling, spread in ribbons over a steep mountain ridge, surrounded by emerald-green tea plantations and towered over by the majestic Khangchendzonga (8598m), Darjeeling is the definitive Indian hill station.
  • On arrival check in at hotel & evening free for leisure on own.
  • Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 2: Darjeeling Sightseeing

  • Early morning at 04:00 visit Kanchenjunga Mountain the third highest peak in the world, with an elevation of 8,586 m. The mountain is regarded very sacred. You can have a spectacular view of the peak “Tiger Hills”.
  • On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Darjeeling built in 1850.
  • Return to hotel for Breakfast.
  • After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing covering the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park - one of India’s best was established to study, conserve and preserve Himalayan fauna. Housed within its rocky and forested environment are species such as Himalayan bears, clouded leopards, red pandas and Tibetan wolves. The zoo, and its attached snow leopard–breeding centre (closed to the public), are home to the world’s largest single captive population of snow leopards.
  • Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday) was built as a tribute to Tenzing so that he could impart his skills to all those who pursued climbing activities in the Himalayas.
  • Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda has two storied white building built in a traditional Japanese style. Close to the temple is the Peace Pagoda that showcases four avatars of Lord Buddha. From the top of the Pagoda, you get a panoramic views of Darjeeling landscape including the Kanchenjunga range.
  • Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 3: Darjeeling To Gangtok (100 Kms/approx 3 Hrs)

  • After breakfast, check out from hotel & proceed to Gangtok, located on a ridge at a height of 5500 feet, with a spectacular view of the Khangchendzonga, the town provides the perfect base for travel through the state.
  • By evening visit MG Marg, the main street of Gangtok town is a great place to chill out. The country’s first litter and spit free zone, no vehicular traffic is allowed into the marg. You can sit at the Titanic Park or at the various benches stretched across the mall and take in the carnival like atmosphere.
  • Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 4: Gangtok Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, proceed for a full day sightseeing tour by covering the most interesting places such as Tashi View Point which offers a sweeping view of Kanchenjunga snow peaks on a clear day. In the opposite mountains, you can see the Phodong and Labrang monasteries.
  • Secondly visit Ganesh Tok, which is the highest point around Gangtok (6500ft) which can be reached after 6-7 km steep ascend from the main town situated next to the telivision tower on the mall hill nestled on gangtok Nathula Road.
  • Hanuman Tok known for its wonderful serene ambience and a viewing area that offers spectacular view of Kanchenjunga range.
  • The Ridge is a flat wonderful stretch of road just above the Gangtok Town. The ridge is lined with plants and trees which when in bloom are a riot of colours.
  • Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre is known for its souvenirs like carpets, hand carved tables (choktses), traditional handcrafts, furniture, handlooms carpets and other products are produced & exhibited for sale.
  • Do-Drul Chorten encircled by 108 prayer wheels & one of the most important and biggest stupas found in Sikkim.
  • Nam Nang View Point (Ropeway on direct payment basis) situated in the vicinity of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, one can have very good walk from Nam-Nang View point to Sikkim Press & experience the breath taking view of the dense forest and lush green valley.
  • Ranka Monastery a splendid architecture symbolizes the traditional Tibetan tradition. The entire place is done in bright colours, which will surely catch your attention the moment you spot it.
  • Enchey monastery (200 years old) the site on which the monastery stands is believed to be blessed by the famous tantric master Druptob Karpo.
  • Later visit the Ban Jhakri Waterfall, a 100-foot waterfall is located in a landscaped park. There is also a manmade lake here with a dragon at the center. The entire park is themed on Shaman culture and you can see Sikkimese architecture visible all across the park.
  • By evening return to Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Full Day Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, proceed for a full day sightseeing tour by visiting the Beautiful Tsomgo lake. A winding road through rugged mountain terrain and sharp cliffs takes you to Tsomgo. The lake derives its water from the melting snows of the mountains surrounding the lake. Of legendary beauty, the lake looks different at different seasons. In winter the placid lake remains frozen with the area around it covered in snow while in late spring the profusion of flowers in bloom adds a riot of colours around the lake.
  • Baba Mandir dedicated to “Baba” Harbhajan Singh, who was a soldier of the Indian Army. He died near the Nathula Pass in eastern Sikkim. Two shrines have been built to show reverence to Baba Harbhajan Singh. The old one has been built at the site of the bunker, where Baba Harbhajan was posted during his tenure in the Indian Army. The new one has been built at close proximity from Changu Lake.
  • Rest of the evening free for shopping & individual activity.
  • Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 6: Departure (130 Kms/approx 4 Hrs)

After breakfast, check out from hotel & proceed to Bagdogra Airport/Jalpaiguri railway station for departure, back to home with beautiful memories of a life time trip.
