Visit kaziranga National Park, the home of the one-horned Rhino, Shillong, Cherrapunjee, Asia's cleanest village Mawlynnong. Day-wise Itinerary
ExpandDay 01: Arrival At Guwahati
Arrive Guwahati airport and transfer to hotel. Enroute to hotel visit Kamakhya temple – it is situated at the top of the Nilachal Hill at about 800 feet above the sea level. There is also an Artists’ Village that creates the atmosphere of a typical Assamese community, the Lalit-Kala Bhavan art gallery where exhibitions, art and sculpture workshops are also held, a Heritage Park, an open-air theatre with the capacity to hold 2,000 people, a traditional Vaishnavite temple and the Sahitya Bhavan library of rare books and manuscripts. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 02: Guwahati Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast visit Kamakhya temple and later drive to Chaygaon (Kukurmara): Located 70 kms from Guwahati, the river dolphins are found in Kulsi river, which is the southern tributary of the Brahmaputra river. The river dolphins feed on small fishes and prawns. They mature at an age of 6-7 years and may live for about 35 years. Country boats (without motor) are used for sighting of river dolphins. Overnight in Guwahati.
Day 03: Guwahati To Shillong
After breakfast drive to Shillong (100 kms / 3 hrs drive). Enroute to Shillong enjoy the scenic beauty of the Umium lake and one can also enjoy a boat ride in the lake (own cost), later proceed to Shillong, local sightseeing at Shillong – Ward’s Lake, Cathedral of Marry and Local Bazar (closed on Sunday). Evening at leisure. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 04: Shillong Sightseeing Tour
You will be traveling to Cherrapunjee – the wettest place on the earth. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Cherrapunjee visit – Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park, Koh Ramhah and Khrem Falls. Drive back to Shillong for overnight.
Day 05: Shillong To Kaziranga
After breakfast checkout and drive to Kaziranga (325 kms/ 7 hrs drive). Check in to hotel. Over night in Kaziranga.
Day 06: Kaziranga Sightseeing Tour
After an early wake up, you will be taken to the riding point for an Elephant Ride. After the ride return back to the hotel after having breakfast at leisure. Afternoon enjoy the Park on a Jeep. Overnight at Kaziranga.
Day 07: Departure From Kaziranga
After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport (140 Kms / 4 hrs drive).
