Shillong was the capital of Assam, but after the state was split as Assam and Meghalya meaning 'The abode of the clouds', it became the first capital of the newly formed State of Meghalaya . Located in undulating pine covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city center is 1496 meters above sea level.
Day 01 : Guwahati (Assam)
Day 02 : Guwahati – Shillong (Assam To Meghalaya)
After breakfast we visit the Nabagraha Temple and then drive to Shillong (120 kms / 3hrs drive approx). Check in to hotel. Later local sightseeing in Shillong. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 03 : Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (Meghalaya)
You will be traveling to Cherrapunjee – the wettest place on the earth. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Cherrapunjee visit – Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park, Koh Ramhah and Khrem Falls. Drive back to Shillong for overnight halt.
Day 04 : Shillong – Guwahati Drop (Meghalaya To Ssam)
After breakfast check out and drive to Guwahati airport (140 Kms/ 4 hrs drive approximately).
