Kumarakom, 16km west of Kottayam and on the shore of Vembanad Lake Kerala's largest lake is an unhurried backwater town with a smattering of dazzling top-end sleeping options and a renowned bird sanctuary. You can arrange houseboats through Kumarakom’s less-crowded canals, but expect to pay considerably more than in Alleppey. Alappuzha still more romantically known as Alleppey is the hub of Kerala's backwaters, home to a vast network of waterways and more than 1000 houseboats.
Day 1: Arrival At Cochin And Later Proceed To Kumarakom
On your arrival at Cochin airport or railway station, you will be met by our driver and will proceed to Kumarakom. It is a sleepy little village on the bank of the “Vembanad Lake”. On arrival, check into the pre-booked hotel. Rest of the day free for hotel activities and overnight stay at hotel in Kumarakom.
Day 2: Kumarakom Sightseeing
Breakfast at the hotel and then proceed for sightseeing that includes the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary (Famous for migratory and local birds). In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise (Optional) or relax near the Vembanad Lake. Evening return to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Kumarakom.
Day 3: Kumarakom To Alleppey
Breakfast at the hotel drive to Alleppey. On arrival Check into your house boat (Check in time 12.30 PM). A Houseboat or a Kettuvallam is the olden day rice boat converted into luxurious cruising villa with all modern comforts. Enjoy a cruise along the backwaters of Vembanad Lake. Traditional Kerala food will be served on board. Overnight stay at hotel in Alleppey.
Day 4: Departure From Alleppey To Cochin Airport Drop
Morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Trivandrum Airport station on time to board the flight/ train for your next destination.
