About the tour
Tourists use Lachung as the base to travel to Yumthang valley and its surrounding area such as Katao and Yumasamdong. The small town in itself is also an interesting stay. You can spend some leisure hours sitting beside the Lachung-chu river, mesmerised by the beauty of the place. The local monastery is also a nice place to spend an evening and learn about the local Buddhist culture.

Day-wise Itinerary
ExpandDay 1: Arrival At Gangtok
Meet and greet on arrival at New Jalpaiguri railway station or Bagdogra and transfer to Gangtok. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2: Visit Tsomgo Lake And Baba Mandir
Full day excursion to Tsomgo Lake ( Timing will depend on the issuance of Permit ) - situated at a height of 3,780 Mts. with an average depth of 50 ft and Baba Mandir - The shrine made in memory of sepoy Harbhajan Singh. Back to Gangtok. Evening free. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Gangtok To Lachung
After breakfast pick up from hotel at Gangtok and transfer to Lachung ( Timing will depend on the issuance of Permit ) Via Phodong, Mangan, Singik Chungthang and Maltim. Overnight stay at Lachung.
Day 4: Excursion To Yumthang Valley And Back To Lachung
Morning after breakfast visit Yumthang Valley (Famous as Valley of variety of Rhododendron ). Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks and winter playgrounds of yetis. On the way back visit the Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort for lunch. Overnight stay at Lachung.
Day 5: Lachung To Gangtok
After breakfast leave for Gangtok. On the way stop between Singhik, Mangan and if the weather is clear you may get to see the Khangchendzonga Range. This location offers a majestic view of Mt. Pandim, Mt. Kabru, Mt. Simvo, Mt. Jopuno, Mt. Khangchendzonga and Mt. Siniolchu on a clear sky day. Visit Phodong Monastery on the way if time permits. Overnight at Gangtok.
Day 6: Gangtok Departure
Morning free for packing and personal activities. After breakfast transfer to New Jalpaiguri railway station or Bagdogra Airport for return journey.
