Full Day Sightseeing Tour with Iruppu Falls

About

Iruppu Falls, a sacred spot and a picturesque waterfall, Iruppu Falls are thronged by devotees throughout the year. These falls are also known as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, as the Laxman Tirtha, a tributary of Kaveri River, starts its flow from here. According to a legend, the river was formed when Laxman, the younger brother of Lord Ram, shot an arrow into the nearby hills. A temple of Sri Ram is also nearby, from where one can trek up to the falls through the surrounding forest. Besides these, a Shiva temple, known to devotees as Remeshwaram Temple, is also located by the bank of the tributary of the Kaveri, the Laxman Tirtha. This temple is a must-visit place during the Hindu festival of Shivaratri. Nagarhole National Park, the enchanting 247 square-mile park in Karnataka has an astonishing abundance of wildlife including large mammals such as tiger, leopard, wild elephant, dhole (Indian wild dog), and gaur (Indian bison). Other species present are chital spotted deer, muntjac (barking deer), mouse deer, four-horned antelope, wild boar, sloth bear, hyena, mongoose, civet, otter, and more.
