About

Gym, 12 Thi Sach St (off Tran Nhat Duat St), ☎ 0932 405 931. There is a large gym in town called Nha Trang Body Building Club, part of a leisure complex that includes badminton and tennis courts, basketball area and football pitch. The gym offers monthly membership passes for 150,000 dong. Novotel also have gym memberships for non-guests which includes swimming pool, sauna and relaxation room. Daily pass costs 200,000 dong, one month pass 1,400,000 dong, 3 months pass 2,700,000 dong. Monthly passes include one free massage, ask about this when purchasing. The Novotel gym, however, is in all honesty, a room, with one smith (cable) machine, two or three treadmills, and a small rack of free weights (max 20lbs). Anyone who's spent more than a month in a gym, will find very little to do at Novotel's gym. There are no leg machines here, no bench press, no incline bench, etc. It is a gym suited more for a casual workout, by a casual tourist, rather than anyone seeking a real workout. The 5 star Sheraton probably has the best gym in town with excellent views but costs $100 for one month and this doesn't include use of their swimming pool. While the views are spectacular, and the facility is clean/world-class, again, you will find a lack of machines, if you are more serious about your fitness. The Sheraton gym has a total of approx. 12-15 machines (in addition to their treadmills). The lack of free weights is disappointing (max dumbbell weight, 20 lbs). Getting a good shoulder, chest, or leg workout, at this gym, is not possible- unless again, you are a casual gym visitor. Fancy Yes. Useful for a serious workout, hardly. (12.2407,109.1835)
