Tropical Acres has been here through three or four generations of families and lays claim to being Fort Lauderdale's oldest steak house. Famed for its beef, the restaurant cooks some good seafood selections as well, but there's no talking the throngs out of their beef fix, so steaks reign supreme. Serving aged, corn-fed Western beef, plus chicken and chops, in a dimly lit dining room with old-time steakhouse ambience, Tropical Acres is a mainstay of regional dining and known far and wide. Whatever it is they do here that continues to draw crowds, they do it well. Tropical Acres has long been one of the top-grossing restaurants in the nation.
