Nuwara Eliya is a city, in the hill country of the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The city name meaning is "city on the plain (table land)" or "city of light". The city is the administrative capital of Nuwara Eliya District, with a picturesque landscape and temperate climate. It is located at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is considered to be the most important location for Tea production in Sri Lanka. The city is overlooked by Pidurutalagala, the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka.
Day 1: Arrival / Kandy
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport Sri Lanka, the tropical paradise, and be warmly greeted by our Representative. Thereafter travel directly to Kandy, it is the hill capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings is a UNESCO World Heritage site which retains an aura of magnificence, time has not affected. It is a lovely exotic city, encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its center. En route visits a Spice Garden in Mawanella where you can see, taste and experience the different spices, which Sri Lanka is famous for. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. Arrive in Kandy, Check in to the Hotel. Late evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth, with its guardian elephant which is a deeply significant Buddhist site that contains a tooth relic of Lord Buddha collected from his funeral pyre and draws thousands of pilgrims from across the world. Thereafter you can enjoy a traditional cultural dance pageant. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 2: Kandy To Nuwera Eliya
After breakfast at the hotel leave for Nuwera Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, it is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort. Also most famous Ceylon tea is produced in this area. Visit a Tea Factory and a tea plantation; find out how tea leaves end up in a steamy hot cup. Don’t forget to grab a few fresh packets on your way out. Arrive Nuwera Eliya, check-in to the Hotel. In the evening visit Hakgala Botanical Gardens, once an icon and a testing ground for acclimatizing non-indigenous plants. The garden is famed for its roses and ferns, and is a lovely spot to spend a few hours and also you can walk in the city of Nuwera Eliya. Visit Lake Gregory and may be go on a boat ride on the Lake. Overnight stay in Nuwera Eliya.
Day 3: Nuwera Eliya To Bandarawela
After breakfast at the hotel leave for Bandarawela, which is the second largest city in the Badulla District is 28 Km away from Badulla. Due to its higher altitude, Bandarawela has a mild weather condition throughout the year hence; it is popular among the citizens to spend the vacation with their family members. Bandarawela town, tinted with a colonial past resting lush forestation has found its niche among its visitors as a base for eco-tourism. Arrive Bandarawela, check-in to the Hotel and refresh yourself. In the evening visit Adisham Hall or Adisham Bungalow. It’s a bungalow which was built by the British governor at 1931. This was designed in the Tudor style, on the lines of Leeds Castle in Kent, with stout granite walls of locally quarried stone, long, narrow turret windows and chimneys. Overnight stay in Bandarawela.
Day 4: Bandarawela To Colombo
Day 5: Colombo Airport
Morning spend the time leisurely. After lunch, proceed to airport for departure.
