Day 1: Delhi Arrival

  • Connect Flight to Delhi. On arrival in India you will be greeted and escorted by PRETTY PLANET TRAVELS's Executive to your hotel.

Day 2: Delhi – Mandawa (By Surface 250 Kms/06-07 Hrs.)

  • After breakfast visit New Delhi. You will drive past President’s Palace and India Gate (42m high), built to commemorate the 70,000 Indian soldiers who died in the 1st world war. Also visit Humayun’s Tomb, built by his wife Haji Begum in the 16th Century. An early example of Mughal architecture considered the predecessor of the Taj Mahal.
  • Later on drive to Mandawa.
  • Mandawa – In the heart of the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan lies the beautiful small town Mandawa, known throughout the state for its forts and havelis. The structures of this place remind one of the cultural and social hotspot this place used to be in the bygone era. The compact and busy little market town of Mandawa was settled and fortified in 18th century by the dominant merchant families of the region. The wealthy businessmen of the village Constructed many havelis and baolis with colored painting adorning their walls.

Day 3: Mandawa

  • Today morning visit the Mandawa (Shekhwati). The semi-desert region of Shekhwati is popularly known as the 'open-air art gallery' of Rajasthan. Shekhawati is unique as no-where else in the world there is such a hundreds of haveli's, temples, cenotaphs, wells and forts. Also
  • visit to Havelies in Mandawa notably the Chokhani Saraf & Ladia Havelies. The terrace of the rugged Fort provides a panoramic view of the town. See the extraordinary frescoes on the walls
  • of the houses and medieval painting of Shekhawati.

Day 4: Mandawa-bikaner (By Surface 200kms/04-05hrs.)

  • After breakfast drive to Bikaner.
  • In the middle of Rajasthan's Thar Desert, Bikaner was founded and named after Rao Bhika in 1488. Earlier it was the main centre on the caravan route to Central Asia & North India before it was conquered by Rathore Prince Bika. An oasis town among scrub and sand dunes, the walled city retains a medieval air and sandstone architecture.

  • Jaipur - Jaipur was established by Maharaja Jai Singh II (1693-1743) and painted pink by Maharaja Man Singh II when Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, visited Jaipur in 1876. Day 7: Jaipur

  • After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing. Visit Amber Fort. This city Fort is situated 130 m high with the Aravali hills about 11 km north of Jaipur. It was the ancient capital of the Kachhawaha Rajputs till 1737. Enjoy the Jeep ride to the fort.
  • Later visit the palace on wind (Hawa Mahal) with 953 windows and niches which were made so that ladies of royal family could see the procession and events in the city without being visible to the people.
  • Proceed to the City Palace, which occupies the center of Jaipur. It now houses the Royal residence and museums with collections of textiles and costumes, armory, manuscripts, paintings etc.
  • Also visit the Observatory (Jantar Mantar) built (1728 34) by king astrologer Jai Singh II. The instruments are built of stone with marble facing on the important plains for measuring the
  • Harmony of the planets & terrestrial objects. Each instrument serves a particular function and each gives an accurate reading.

Day 8: Jaipur – Agra (By Surface 238 Kms. / 05-06hrs.)

  • After breakfast drive to Agra.
  • Agra stands on the right bank of the river Yamuna, was once the seat of the Mughal rulers, the zenith of art and an en-shrined romance. A town famous for its beautiful medieval monuments. The passion of the Mughals for building endowed it with some of the loveliest buildings in the world.
  • Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri, the beautiful and deserted medieval city built by Akbar the Great in the 16th century to serve as the capital of his vast empire. The complex consists of religious, residential and administrative buildings. The Mosque is considered a copy for the Mosque at Mecca and is extremely elegant, containing elements of Hindu and Persian design. Housed here is the Shrine of Sheikh Salim Chisti one of the greatest of Sufi saints of the Muslim world.
  • Later continue drive to Agra, on arrival check in at the hotel.

Day 9: Agra – Delhi (By Surface 205 Kms. / 04-05hrs. )

  • After breakfast visit the Taj Mahal* (1631-1653), a poem in white marble, built by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaj Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14 child. It employed 20,000 workers from the Central Asia and Europe for 22 years to construct this extravagant monument
  • *IMP: Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays.
  • Later visit the Agra Fort, situated on the west bank of the river Jamuna, made by the Mughal King Akbar in the 16th century and completed by his grandson Shah Jahan, who was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb for 8 years in this fort, before his death.
  • Later on drive to Delhi international to board on flight to onward destination.
