- Durbar Square with its old Royal Palace (Hanuman Dhoka), numerous interesting temples, and the
- Kasthamandap. Next visit Swayambhunath Stupa, the oldest Buddhist shrine. A golden spire crowning
- a conical wooded hill, Swayambhunath Stupa is the most ancient and enigmatic of all the holy shrines
- in Kathmandu valley. Also visit the Pashupatinath Temple, regarded as the most sacred temple of
- Hindu Lord Shiva in the world. Later, visit Bouddhanath temple, a Tibetan buddhist monument. Rest
- of the day at leisure. Overnight in Kathmandu.
