At night Hook Lighthouse flashes across the house every 20 seconds or so. Beachview is located just 300m from the beach, shops and restaurants, and 500m from the fort and harbour. Both Waterford and Wexford are within reach. There is fishing on all the beaches in the area and off all the local piers. Lug bait can be dug on Duncannon Beach. Good mackerel fishing is available at Slade harbour in August and September. For shopping, guests can visit Waterford, Wexford and New Ross. Other attractions in the area include JFK Park, about 11km away, and the historic sites of Duncannon Fort, Hook Lighthouse, Dunbrody Abbey and Tintern Abbey.
