The Amala Wildlife Sanctuary, spread over an area of 15 acres, is home to some of the rare species of plants and animals found in the Sahyadri. This sanctuary lies is a popular place for trekking and mountain biking. Some of the animals that can be spotted in the sanctuary include monkeys, antelopes, bison, wild boar, hyena, jackals and others. The varied species of birds found in the sanctuary include magpies, robins and orioles, among others.
